So, we eventually made it to Gaoyou, park the car, checked into the hotel and decided to go for a stroll. One of Jen's friend's had put together a book on the history of Gaoyou so we decided to take the south loop tour, which was a 2 mile walk...right...3 miles and an hour and half later....did I mention that cars, bikes, and pedestrians live in harmony on the streets of China....there are no sidewalks (or the one's that are there are full of bikes and mopeds)...so caution is needed.
Okay so, we made a wrong turn in the tour, ended up walking a block the wrong way, had to turn around and head the other direction. Our goal, the Gaoyou Canal.
