So, we finally got off the train in Nanjing and weaved our way through the masses. I am a bit disappointed in myself for not capturing that moment in photo, quite the scene. Anyway, awaiting us in Nanjing was a friend of Lian's school teacher who offered to drive us to Gaoyou. I believe I may have misspelled Gaoyou the other day. These two guys were amazing considering they did not speak English, and Dano was our translator...anyway, we boarded the yellow van and took a three hour drive to Gaoyou, with a stop for lunch along the way. Take out is a problem in China, every meal is a sitdown feast, so trying to explain we wanted noodles for the ride...well...we should've just ate in...all kidding aside, the drive was amazing as the countryside is so beautiful. Here are some photos from the ride.. I almost forgot, the third photo is of the guide from when Lian was adopted. She helped arrange and obtain the appropriate paperwork for the visit to Lian's old hometown.
Photo of Nanjing as we were leaving.
