Well, seven days to be exact if you count the 12th as the actual departure date from the U.S.; however it is only six days left till I get on the plane to Seattle and start the trip, so I am working from that timeline. Today's trip to do list included a stop at the bookstore and Macy's. My understanding is that the flight to China from San Francisco is at least 12 hours, not counting the 5 plus hours from Burlington to Seattle, so I am looking at least 17 hours of flight time one-way, so reading material seems to be a must.
Anyway, for starters I've picked up the following books to read:
Collapse - Jare Diamond
Running Blind - Lee Child
The Omnivore's Dilemna - Michael Pollan
The Tipping Point - Malcom Caldwell
Don't Know Much About Anything - Kenneth Davis
All were impulse buys at the bookstore, so I am sure to bring along a few others along, but figured I'd start off with these five. Who knows, depending on time, might even post a few book reports.

Hey John. Men's League here!
Winch tipped me off to this blog and your trip. Sounds like it's gonna be one hell of an adventure.
Not sure if you know, but both of my kids are adopted, one from Boston and one from Schenectady.
Good luck in your travels and I look forward to keeping up with them via this blog.
